Some difficult-to-find yet entertaining-to-play classics are being re-released in a brand-new collection. At Sony’s State of Play presentation, Konami announced The Cowabunga Compilation, a group of old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles titles released shortly. It combines 13 games published initially in arcades and on consoles such as the Game Boy, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Sega Genesis, including the side-scrolling beat, Turtles in Time, and the 2D fighter Tournament Fighters, among other titles. The games have added several new features, such as online play, button mapping, a rewind option, and enhanced texture. You can get a preview of the collection in the clip above.
Although there is no set release date for the collection, it is expected to arrive on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam later this year. In other throwback TMNT news, developer Dotemu — the studio behind games like the fantastic Streets of Rage 4 — is hard at work on a brand-new arcade-style game called Shredder’s Revenge will be released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox later this year.
