In a statement issued Wednesday, leading textile and apparels company Raymond announced that Sunil Kataria had been named CEO of its lifestyle division.
The Mumbai-based firm said that it had reinforced its leadership team with a seasoned professional known for directing large-scale business transformations and building strong consumer brands in India and Southeast Asia, among other accomplishments.
He will be responsible for directing the company towards its next expansion phase, including pushing the digital agenda and growing the brand’s presence in both local and foreign markets.
“At Raymond, we think that having the best people in the business who is aligned with our goal of building a future-ready organization is essential. The previous several years have seen us make significant progress in developing brands and retail experiences for our loyal customers and new-age consumers. “In a regulatory filing, Raymond Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Hari Singhania stated his company’s intentions.
The Raymond Group’s Lifestyle Business is the company’s central vertical, and it covers the branded textiles, garments, shirting, retail, and clothing verticals, among others.
The company stated that Kataria’s role would be pivotal in driving the ongoing transformation to create a future-ready entity that intersperses digital and physical experiences while infusing freshness to the product portfolio to drive growth.
Kataria formerly served as the CEO of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, where he was in charge of the company’s commercial operations throughout India and Southeast Asia.
