Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, Miley Cyrus’ parents, have reportedly filed for divorce after nearly 30 years of marriage. It’s worth noting that this would be the couple’s third wedding cancellation. After splitting up with ex-wife Cindy Smith in 1991, the Grammy Award-winning country singer married the actor in 1993. Miley Cyrus and her husband have five children: Noah, Brandi, Trace, and Braison.
Billie Ray and Tish Cyrus file for divorce
According to TMZ, after 28 years of marriage, the 60-year-old musician has decided to end his relationship with Tish Cyrus. Tish filed for divorce and submitted the docs last week, according to the outlet. Because all of their children are adults, the couple will not be fighting for custody of any of them.
Tish listed ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the cause for divorce in divorce filings obtained by TMZ, and disclosed that they haven’t lived together in almost two years. In addition, the actor demanded that the marital assets be divided evenly.
“As previously said, this would be the couple’s third divorce filing, as they supposedly split up for the first time in 2010, according to People Magazine. Billy Ray, on the other hand, dropped his plea five months later. Tish filed for divorce again in June 2013. According to the outlet, the pair released a statement in which they said, “We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to be together.” We both went to couples therapy for the first time in our 22 years of marriage, and it has brought us closer together and opened up our communication in incredible ways.”
