Women of the Year has been awarded to Olivia Rodrigo, a rising pop star Billboard has named Woman of the Year. The 19-year-old singer has taken the globe by storm with her most recent album, Sour, released earlier this year. With her first single Drivers License, Rodrigo first gained international attention, catapulting her to greater heights and launching her career to new heights.

The award was given to Rodrigo at such a young age, and she expressed her gratitude in a conversation with ET. She exclaimed, “Oh my gosh, it’s incredible,” and continued, “I mean, writing songs is just about my favorite thing in the entire world, and so to be recognized in this way is surreal.” Adding, “I’m just so thankful to everyone who has supported me this year,” the Disney actress expressed her gratitude to her fans. Rodrigo said she was “excited for what’s to come,” implying that a potential new release was on the horizon.

Rodrigo was asked what she would tell her younger self now that she had risen to become one of the world’s most sought-after singers, to which she said, “I would encourage her to keep working hard and that everything would work out, as it usually does.”

Meanwhile, in addition to receiving such a prestigious award, Rodrigo has also established herself in the music industry as the Good For You singer has been nominated for seven Grammy Awards this year, including the four major categories of Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year, among others. It is projected that Rodrigo will sweep the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, which will be placed on April 4, 2022, with a slew of awards.
